We finally made it back to Portland and are getting settled into our new digs. Brock couldn’t be happier to be stationary. After almost 8000 miles, and 25 states, over the last two months I think he’s earned a bit of laziness. Not sure he enjoyed seeing as much of the county as I did though. He seemed to appreciate rest areas more than anything else. Kansas won the award for grossest rest areas by a landslide. Haven’t seen just a hole in the ground since Korea.
Heading back was as many miles as getting to Florida, but we made the trip in 3 less days.
We started in Alabama to see a new Civil Rights Memorial and drive though Shittown. It is appropriately named and didn’t disappoint.
We spent a week in Arkansas visiting family and trying to get our windshield fixed. Brock did some quality time with Lacey, and by quality time I mean they ignored one another for 7 days.
Next we drove through Kansas into Colorado. In Colorado, we got to spend a morning catching up with an old friend.

Brock really wanted to see the Four Corners so we drove 200 miles out of our way. Really exciting to see this sign…

It was some the most beautiful landscape either of us have ever seen so we made good use of the stop.
Took a slight detour through Arches National Park. Unbelievable place but not worst timing to visit. Overly populated and hot as anything.

Finally, we made one last push from Provo, UT to Portland and are very happy to be back.
